Polaroid ad

The original Polaroid Land camera, named after its inventor, Dr. Edwin Land. The camera came out in 1947, so this is one of the early ads for it.

Polaroid managed to keep the instant picture market pretty much to itself for the next half-century. Kodak competed but was literally knocked out of the market when they lost key patent battles in the 80s. It wasn't until digital cameras took hold in the late 90s that the Polaroid system became obsolete.

I wonder how many claims they get on their lifetime guarantee these days.
