Hamilton AN-5740-1 (G.C.T.) pocket watch

Hamilton AN-5740 Military pocket watch - dialEasily the best pocket watch I own. Also my father's favorite, even though he was partial to Elgins. It's a 22-jewel hamilton, adjusted to six positions plus temperature. Pendant wind and set. It's a military watch, circa World War II (though it could have been made later—I haven't been able to find the production years for it). G.C.T. means "Greenwich Civil Time" according to vintage-hamilton-wristwatches.com. They also claim the case is 0.800 silver.

I've seen this described as an Air Force navigator's or bombardier's watch.
