Another of my late father's many Elgins. This is a Grade 313. Size 16, 15 jewels, pendant wind and set. In fact that scared me--I had wound it, then popped the crown to set it, which worked fine but I couldn't get it seated again. I finally did it (it took more force than I would have liked) to snap into place again. I wouldn't be so hinkey except that I had broken a working Waltham earlier, and I didn't want to add another friendly-fire casulty to the sick, lame, and lazy box.
The case on this by Dueber (first one I've seen), and had a 20-year warranty. I believe it's gold filled, though I have no idea what karat gold (probably 10). The front looks good but the back is heavily worn. There is still some remenants of a raised design, and some spots where the finish has rubbed off entirely. Luckily the face still looks great.
