Norland tambour clock

Iswitch Tambour clock

I don't know where this one came from. My mother went to England a couple times, it may have been a souvenier.

This is a Norland, going by the stamp on the cast iron part that holds the tone rods for the Westminster chime. Norland made clocks from 1932 to 1940, when (according to a comment on NAWCC.org) the factory was hit with high-explosive bomb. Inside the back door there's a portion of a card that has instructions and someone wrote the date, European style, as 1937.

I always liked this English styling, with the grain of the cabinet as part of the dial face.

Acquired: thrift shop, 2017.

Made: 1937

Current condition: runs for short periods. Needs attention.
